Annette V. Moore – Executive Director
Ms. Moore is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of The Moorings at Lewes campus in Lewes, Delaware. With 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Ms. Moore has served at a variety of retirement and healthcare communities throughout Ohio, Delaware and Pennsylvania. She has a proven record of success including the following achievements and awards: Delaware Health Care Facilities Association 2015 Administrator of the Year; American College of Health Care Administrators Professional Achievement Award; established Employer of Choice in Delaware (eight consecutive years); and Pathway to Excellence Status for skilled nursing communities.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in LTC Administration from Youngstown State University, becoming a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) in 1994.
Karen L. Kerstetter, Sales and Marketing Director
Karen oversees all sales and marketing operations at the community, working directly with prospective residents to share the active and vibrant lifestyle of the community’s independent living neighborhood. She hosts monthly marketing events, provides community tours and engages in outreach efforts to continue to ensure The Moorings is represented as an esteemed and integral part of the local and surrounding areas. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in applied nutrition from the University of Delaware and resides in Lewes.
Lauri P. Weeks, Director of Resident Services
Lauri acts as an advocate for meeting the needs, wants and conveniences of residents within The Moorings at Lewes community and the surrounding Lewes area, working to enhance their daily lives through activities, cultural opportunities and community-wide events and celebrations. She brings more than 12 years of experience in management, customer service, hospitality and marketing to her post. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Delaware and lives in Rehoboth with her husband and three children.
Kim Bishop, Director of Nursing
Kim joined The Moorings at Lewes in 2013 and has worked in Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing. Appointed to Director of Nursing in 2019, she is responsible for completing all assessments of prospective and current residents according to regulations; hiring, training, orienting and managing the clinical staff; monitoring clinical performance of nursing staff, intervening with families and residents regarding clinical issues; and participates in state and internal investigations as well as annual surveys.
Kim’s 16 years of nursing experience in long-term care has afforded her exceptional skills and depth. Her expertise as a nurse, integrity as a leader and exceptional communication skills help us help our residents to be well cared for and happy as they age.
Kim received her nursing degree from Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown, Delaware and holds a PhD in Leadership and Administration from Morgan State University in Baltimore Maryland.
Nicole Butler, Dining Director
Ms. Butler is responsible for the overall operations of The Moorings’ dining department including the day-to-day functions of the Boathouse Bistro Grand Atrium, the Chart Room restaurant, private event catering, take-out services and the seasonal outdoor patio. She is specifically focused on streamlining operations to ensure an exceptional dining experience at The Moorings at Lewes.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in culinary arts and business management from the world-renown Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. She opened one of the Loews five-star hotels in Philadelphia and has a special talent for designing decorative ice sculptures and fruit and vegetable carvings for onsite occasions. With her broad range of experiences, she brings an excitement and joy of hospitality to the community.
Chuck Palmer, Facilities Director
Mr. Palmer is responsible for the overall operations and day-to-day functions of The Moorings’ maintenance department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations as well as policies established by Springpoint. In his role, he provides the strategic oversight of campus operations to ensure the needs of the community are safely met in an effective and efficient manner.
Mr. Palmer has over 15 years of experience in healthcare facilities operations. He was responsible for the overall maintenance and repairs at Brookdale Regency Oaks Senior Living, Delaware Hospice, and Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Prior to his extensive career in healthcare facilities operations, Chuck served and retired from the United States Air Force (USAF) where his position included quality assurance and facilities management.
Chuck resides with his wife in Felton, Delaware. They enjoy family gatherings, traveling, golfing and their pet boxer Parker Palmer.
