Part of the Springpoint family since 2017.
Our retirement community history began as early as 1996, when the leadership team of Cadbury Senior Services, Inc. decided to establish a Life Plan Community in Lewes, Delaware. Cadbury Senior Services was a Quaker organization named after the New Jersey Cadbury family, who were prominent in the Quaker community and descendants of the founder of the Cadbury chocolate empire. Ten years of planning and dedication led to construction of Cadbury at Lewes on 35 acres adjacent to the historic town of Lewes. The first residents moved into the “only Life Plan Community at the beach” early in 2000s.
In 2017, our Life Plan Community became part of the Springpoint organization, a well-respected senior living provider with over a century of service to older adults and their families. We changed our name to The Moorings at Lewes to establish a new brand identity that reflects the Springpoint affiliation and the bright future that lies ahead for the community. Our new name reflects the community’s unique nautical surroundings, and keeping Lewes in the name reflects the charming coastal town of the Delaware Bay community.
Today, our Life Plan Community is a vital part of the greater community in Lewes. Offering lifestyle choices never before available, residents enjoy vibrant independent living in our cottages and apartments, as well as supportive services like assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing.
